The main improvement is that of a screen is added on the right end

of the capacitor and this screen is to the positive pole of a battery. This is so to control the end field of the said capacitor. The screen is situated mid distance between the mid distance between the cathode and the point where the velocity U is compared to UX.  Obviously, the electron has been accelerated when it was on the left of this screen between the cathode and the said screen.. When the electron is on the right of the  screen is de-accelerated to the same extend it was accelerated until the point of comparison. So the magnitude of U I unaffected at the point of comparison. All the added screen is doing to correct and control the end effect of the field on the right of the capacitor

NOTE The end effect of  the capacitor is affecting   velocity U  to a small extend, depending on the vertical position, of the electron, going out of this capacitor, whether it is closer or less closer to the separated positive plate from the negative one. Using the screen this vertical position of the electron  dependency  is eliminated. Provided, the particular electron is not hitting the solid metal grid of the screen by pure chance, and it is not absorbed by or distorted by the solid metal grid of this screen.
